The Man on a Cross

A man wandered through the wilderness one day,
Alone and searching, lost along the way.
Troubles all around him, demons everywhere,
Hunting for his soul, trying to ensnare.

Onward he walked, evil drawing ever nigh,
Running from his troubles, just about to die.
The hounds of hell had cornered him in -
Bound to a rock by the shackles of his sin.

He turned his tired head and looked above
To the man on a cross who radiated love.
Tears of blood fell from his hanging head
And struck the hounds, stopping them dead.

The man looked up in awe and adoration
To this Savior who put forth a demonstartion
Of love unimaginable to any human mind -
A love that was strong enough to save mandkind!

The man fell weeping with joy, shackles gone,
His life started anew that day, breaking dawn
Washed over him; his soul has now been won
By the loving power of Jesus Christ, God's only Son!
