Mourning Dove
A mourning dove sits perched in a walnut tree, Her sad song whispering,
"Live and be free!" Her song rises in mourning for those who have died, Never rising above their sin and their pride. Her
song, though simple, has a lesson to teach. Her wings, though worn, have a soul to reach. "Let go of your anger, your
hate, your pain. There's always sunshine after the rain. Don't let your feathers droop with shame. No darkness can
smother your inner flame. Live and be free, stretch your wings and fly!" Her song comes out like a tear-filled sigh. "Look
to the Son who is rising in the east In Him place your trust, and let your soul feast!" So please, take a lesson from
the mourning dove - Don't lose your only chance at life and love. Let her song echo in your soul, and see What happens
when you truly live and be free!
