The Secret Names
I walked alone and fought with myself; I placed my heart on a silver shelf And watched it burn in
flames black. I thought about taking myself back, But, wordless at last, I simply looked on As the world grayed in
the dark dawn. Silver muted and aged to rusted steel, My heart spun around on winter's wheel. I saw secret words
masked in the flames; I read them and learned the hidden names That were buried deep within my heart. I knew then
that I had to fill my part. The words, the names, held secrets given To me alone, and through them were riven The
black dawn and the dark fire growing From the evil that poured out, never knowing The names were hidden in its hiding
place. The words changed then into a person's face, The names all referring to the image shown. I realized something
that I have always known - Wherever I may wander and anywhere I roam, The One whose face I saw calls my heart His home.
