Prayer of the Sinner
Father, I'm sorry, I've done it again,
Disobeyed You, with nothing
to gain
But guilt that drags me farther from You,
Clinging to grace to see me through.
We've been down this road a thousand times.
No work I could do
could forgive my crimes.
Only Your love and grace are sufficient
Because my flesh is weak and deficient.
Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.
Whisper to me softly on
the eastern wind.
Give me the strength not to again fall down
Because without You I'm going to drown.
All this I ask in Jesus Christ's name.
Now and forever You're always
the same.
Thank You, Father, thank You, Son,
And thank You, Spirit - three in one!
